The National Alumnae Association of Spelman College (NAASC) Columbia, Maryland Chapter was founded on September 20, 1975, by Dr. Ora Sterling King. Following its establishment, the chapter set forth goals aimed at enhancing visibility within the local community through active recruitment, fostering sisterhood among alumnae, developing leadership at local, regional, and national levels of NAASC, and organizing initiatives to raise scholarship funds for future Spelman students. Today, the chapter flourishes with more than 60 members. This collection serves as a tribute to the legacy of the Columbia Maryland Chapter, honoring both our past and future as we approach our 50th anniversary. As you enjoy these candles, take a moment to reflect on our journey and embrace the idea of living life like it's Golden.
